Bracebridge — Mayor
1. What actions have you personally taken to support a greener, more sustainable climate?
I personally own a farm and what I have done is ceased using chemical fertilizer chemical fly control and for dust control in our riding ring we use natural oils no calcium and when possible we use smaller tractors that use less fuel which produces lass carbon monoxide.
2. What opportunities for climate leadership at the municipal level (e.g. greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs)) would you champion in one or more of these areas: Buildings | Housing | Land use (sprawl) | Transportation | Other
I will support smaller housing construction which will take less energy to heat and air condition and it will hopefully create affordable housing they will also require less building materials.
3. A long-term problem requires a long-term solution. What is your 100-year plan? If elected, what would be your first action?
I do not have a hundred year plan I would be going to a committee such as yours for advice and direction.
My first action pertaining to conservation and the environment I would be requesting all municipal government buildings to lower there thermostats by two degress in the cooler months and raise it by two degrees in the warmer months and when is staff is through in there office they would be requested to turn there lights off and I would instruct all municipal vehicles to be serviced and maintained so they produce the least amount of carbon monoxide.
These are small moves but all small moves add up over a course of a year.
